Maida Vale Apartment

London, W9

Our clients approached us with a need to renovate a turn of the century mansion block apartment with dated interiors into a simple and light filled space. As they work long hours in London during the week, spending their weekends in their country barn conversion, the design needed to address their requirement for the apartment to be clean and functional, but importantly not lacking in soft and intimate moments.

We proposed to open up the front two reception rooms, and move the kitchen from a dark back room to create a double aspect open plan living space. With the use of screens and dividers we could start to separate out the space, without losing light, to delineate a private and tactile library and study area, that still felt connected to the main living space.

Elsewhere in the apartment, a reconfiguration of internal walls retained the two bedrooms and two bathrooms, finished in a simple palette of light colours and natural materials.
